Scrapbook Kits with a Difference First ever blog hop

Scrapbook Kits With A Difference, and the Design Team, would like to welcome you to our first ever Recipe Layout Blog Hop. We'd like to share this special event with you, and to celebrate, we are offering three kits from Scrapbook Kits With A Difference, for 3 lucky people.

The blog hop begins at the Scrapbook Kits with A Difference (SKWAD) blog http://scrapwithv.blogspot.com.au/. On the SKWAD blog you will find a complete list of all the designers participating in the blog hop, in case there is a glitch along the way. If you would like to play with us, just follow along the blog path. Each SKWAD designer is linking to the next designer, and that designer is linking to the next, and so on. Be prepared to find lots of inspiration along the way. Our 3 lucky winners will be randomly chosen after the hop is over. Woot! Woot!

The Blog Hop starts today, July 15th and runs through until 22nd July (midnight AUS Eastern Standard Time). The three winners will be announced on the SKWAD blog on Tuesday 24th July. All you need to do, to be in the draw to win one of the fabulous Scrapbook Kits kits, is the following:

1. Become a follower on our SKWAD blog.

2. Like us on our Facebook Page (link can be found on the top right side of the blog).

3. Add our SKWAD blinkie to your blog.

4. Leave a comment on each designer's blog, and on the SKWAD blog too.

5. If you create, and share a layout, using our Blog Hop Recipe, you will receive 5 extra tickets in the draw. Please link your layout to the Recipe Blog Hop post.

Official Blog Hop Recipe. Ingredient: 3 photos, 1 cardstock, 2 patterned papers, a wet medium (eg. paint, mist spray, gesso), a mask, raw chipboard, 5 buttons (or brads), 3 rows of text, twine (or string), and 2 butterflies. Flowers, ribbons, and bling are all optional.

And here is my layout. Sorry about the pics, its been really bad weather here lately and the lighting is no good for taking pics. Here are the ingredients and what I used:
3 photos - yep - lucky I have 3 daughters
1 cardstock - blue bazzill
2 patterned papers - Bo Bunny used both sides of a sheet of patterned paper and the matching journal block
a wet medium (eg. paint, mist spray, gesso) - I used ink because paint would take too long too dry at the moment. So I have inked at the top of the layout
a mask - used a chicken wire mask at the top of the layout - didnt show up very well
raw chipboard - twiddleybitz butterfly
5 buttons (or brads) - actually had to use 6
3 rows of text - and I have more than 3 rows of text (we all fiddle with the ingredients of a recipe, dont we?)
twine (or string) - machine stitched around the edge of the blue cardstock
2 butterflies - 2 eye candy magic felt butterflies
Flowers, ribbons, and bling are all optional - and you cant have a girls layout with flowers and bling. I used prima flowers and bling. And I created the title out of American Craft Thickers, journalling using a DYMO labeller and small alpha stickers.

July challenges at Scrapbook Kits with a Difference

Wow, its July already. Jules has 2 great challenges for you all at Scrapbook Kits with a Difference
http://scrapwithv.blogspot.com.au/

Here is the sketch challenge, which I didnt get a chance to do. :(
And the photo inspiration challenge

And here is the layout that I created using those colours. These colours arent ones that I would normally use, but I'm reasonably happy with how it turned out.

So pop on over and check out the design teams examples and give the challenges a go. Jules has some cool prizes for the winners

Scrapbook Kits with a Difference - July Kits (2 layouts & 2 cards)

I received a gorgeous kit from Jules at Scrabook Kits with a Difference

to make some layouts for July. Not only did I make 2 layouts but I had enough supplies to make 2 cards as well. I really love the colours of the kit and of course the lovely flowers and string.  So with these kits I got busy making handmade embellishments and I also pulled out the sewing machine as well. I'm really happy with how these kits turned out. If you want to purchase a kit you better be quick, because Jules only makes up about 3 or 4 kits.

 LAYOUT 2 - SISTERS
