I dont make cards often because I just cant seem to make them look nice, maybe its the smaller size than Im used to on my scrapbooking layouts. But I stumbled across a blog hop at Midweek Magnolias, with a birthday theme. I have a few of my girls friends birthdays coming up so I thought, why not? I stumbled on the site because I was browsing the net for a chevron roller stamp thingy, and they have one in their store. So I'd love to win the challenge this month to get that roller. Im not happy with how the layout turned out, but anyway here it is, and the sketch. You have to look closely to see the sketch in my layout, I think the colours that I chose drown out the sketch and the detail.

First up is a colour inspiration challenge

And with this very bright photo as inspiration, this is what I came up with

The photo was taken at the Uproar to Scrapmore Retreat last year. I used Kaisercraft and Bazzill cardstock, Prima packaging, Kaisercraft patterned paper strips, droplets and doily, Flourish with a Bling flourish, Carolee Creations alpha stickers, washi tape, Imaginarium packing, A2Z Scraplet chipboard, leaves and a handmade flower. I also used the gorgeous Pink Present charming chain from My2Angels. They are just so gorgeous, and cheap too. Check them out here

Im quite happy with how this layout turned out. I used Kaisercraft patterned paper, tags, alpha stickers, doilies,lace and roses, sheet music, American Craft thickers, Carolee Creations alpha stickers, Imaginarium chipboard, Prima flourish and flowers, Twiddleybitz chipboard, feathers, mini roses, Bella clear flourishes and an antique charming chain from My2Angels. Check them out here

Charms Creations & Scrapbooking From Scratch sketch challenge

I won a really cool heart from Charms Creations for doing their blog hop a while back. I've been waiting to use, and mum told me about this sketch. So I thought I'd check it out. I loved the sketch, and here is what I came up with.

I am really happy with how this layout turned out. I painted the background using black, pink and candy coloured paint. I used Kaiser patterend papers and die cuts, carolee creations alpha stickers, Eye Candy magic pinwheel, heart stick, crocheted flower and small black rose, Imaginarium chipboard title and wire chipboard piece and the Charms Creations pink heart.
