Mad About Scrappin Cyber Crop Challenge

Challenge 4 for the Mad About Scrappin cyber crop was:

1. A little bit of me – My style is a little bit eclectic and varies, but elements you will see over and over are white/negative space, doodling & distressing, so please include at least two of these elements on your page.

2. A little bit of you – Your page must include a photo of yourself on your page (other people can be in the photo too if you like)

And of course I didnt read the instructions properly so I have done a negative space LO, with a photo of me that includes distressing and doodling. Anyway Im not really any good at negative space LOs, cause I like to pile on heaps of stuff, so Im quite happy with how this turned out. The photo isnt very clear. I used stampin up cream card, little yellow bicycle music paper, bo bunny PP, journalling paper, autumn leaves rub ons, kaiser flowers, kaiser pearls, thickers, kaiser alpha stickers, tag and a wax seal that came on an envelope for a wedding invite.

Mad About Scrappin Cyber Crop Challenge

So the third challenge for the cyber crop was a sketch. This sketch comes from the very talented Becky Fleck who designs all the sketches over at www.pagemaps.com if you are ever stuck for inspiration, go on over and check them all out...there is bound to be something there to inspire. This sketch is an 8.5 x 11 (A4) sketch but I have made it work for my traditional 12 x 12 layout below. You can do whatever size you like....
Im not really good at following sketches. Im happy with how this turned out. I used My Memories PP, cloud 9 design plain pink paper, music paper, lace, ribbon, flowers, Making Memories glitter stickers, Carolee Creation alpha stickers, thickers, heidi swapp circle verse, cant remember the name of the journalling paper.

Mad About Scrappin Cyber Crop Challenge

Over at mad about scrappin they had a cyber crop last weekend. The first challenge was:

The colour combination must be pink white and brown, I want you to scrap about something that you love about scrapbooking - it could be the shopping, the products, flowers, ribbon - For me it is about the fabulous friends I have met and made along the way. In addition you need to include some chipboard and a heart.....

So I did this LO, which I dont like, about how i love flowers. And I have 3 daughters so all my pages are very girly and full of flowers. I put a circle photo of each of my daughters in the big flowers. I used stampin up paper, autumn leaves cream rub on flourish, chipboard wings, stampin up love heart stamp, thickers, ribbon and stampin up flower stamps. This LO was one that looked great in my mind, but didnt turn out how i thought it would

Uproar 2 Scrapmore March Glimmermist Challenge

Over at Uproar 2 Scrapmore there is a challenge for March to create a LO using a mask and glimmermist. I didnt have any glimmermist so I used a few drops of food colouring mixed with water. The LO didnt turn out too bad, but I think the water was a bit too thin. But you can see it in the close up. The LO is about Mia and how confident with her swimming she had gotten, over xmas. Im quite happy with how this turned out.

She (March challenge at Scraptivate)

This is my LO titled 'she' which I did for the March challenge over at www.scraptivate.ning.com

This month's challenge is ..................................

"SHE ... "

Interpret that one as you like and remember you can submit absolutely anything from ATC's to Scrapbook layouts and cards or off the page projects.

So I simply called the LO 'she' and used that title as the beginning of each sentence that i hand wrote under the title. I used Bo Bunny papers, Prima flower vine, pearl ribbon, heidi swapp mirror bird, metal key charm, Basic Grey rub ons, Carolee Creations alpha stickers and thickers. The white background isnt part of this LO.

What? Me drinking Wine?

I used some really old Kaiser papers for this LO, that i think I bought about 2 years ago at the Melbourne Scrapbook Expo. I cut out all the flowers from a piece of Kaiser paper as well. I never used to be a wine drinker, but a friend converted me (damn her :) ) I dont mind how this one turned out, it didnt take me long to do.

Soccer

Ive been meaning to a do a LO on Mackenzie wanting to play soccer, for a while now. She loves having a kick in the backyard. She is looking forward to a new and bigger back yard to have some more room to kick. I used scrap paper again for this one, Papermania journalling pad, cheap flowers from Big W, Kaiser bling, Jolees soccer embellishments and American Craft thickers. Quite happy with how this one turned out, i really like the colours

Im quite happy with how this LO turned out. Its the first time I have used the Prima flower vines. I used only scrap papers for this LO, including the outside shaped piece, from Kaiser. And i think even the paper doily is from when I went to the local coffee shop. I also used Bella chipboard, Papermania journalling paper, ribbon, kaiser bling, Making Memories stickers. I chalked around a butterfly shape in the top left hand corner.

Born 2 Create challenge sponsored by scrapncraftwitht

I made this LO, called Dance like no one is watching, for a challenge at
Born2Create.ning.com
The challenge is sponsored by Tanya over at Scrapncraftwitht
http://www.scrapncraftwitht.com.au/
She is donating $20 to spend in her store, so jump over to B2C and check out the challenge.
The requirements for this challenge were:
lots of tearing,
mesh,
something created from tissue paper and/or raffia
transparency
some sewing
Bling
Felt

So Ive shown a few close ups so you can see that i met all the criteria. I made that little birds nest out of a raffia/ribbon type material. Ive had it in my stash for years and years. Ive used transparency with the little deer stamps down the bottom left corner and also on a rub on near the birds nest. Felt owl and stitching on the branch he is sitting on. Bling everywhere and lots of tearing and inking.

This is a just because LO i did called There Were 5 in the Bed. I used some of the new Stampin Up paper. This photos was when my youngest was just a couple of days old. Its just a simple LO, but i dont mind it

Friendship album

Ive finally finished (and wrapped) this friendship album that I have made for my friend's 35th bday. Normally I like to make my LOs and OTP stuff very bulky, but i decided to keep this one pretty simple. Im reasonably happy with how it turned out. i have used beads on the ring of the album, which says 35 and also her name (KATE). I used my new Stampin Up papers for this album and my new Neighbours stamp set that I got free from Stampin Up. I also used some Magnolia images that I coloured with my stampin up markers

My fave singer challenge - Debs Creations

I did this LO, from our recent trip to Brissy to see ACDC in concert, for the challenge over at Deb's Creations on our fave singer. This is my second entry in her challenge, the first one was of the time when we went to Pearl Jam's concert. So anyway, I wanted to keep this page pretty minimal, but of course i couldnt help but put a flower on the page :). So i layered it up and put some glitter over the flower layers. I used a chain that i got off one of my daughters clothes, that the tags come on. In the top photo, its a bit blurry, but its a big blow up of Rosie.

You can check out the challenge at
Deb has an online store attached to that ning site with some really cool stamps, like Magnolia, Kraftin Kimmie, Whiff of Joy, Wags N Whiskers and plenty more. So check it out

Sunday, March 7, 2010

This LO, called Slow Down, is for a challenge at my LSS in Toowoomba - TCs That Craft Shop. I was given 4 pieces of Kaiser paper, from the Imagine range, a piece of ribbon and a bling letter. Im really happy with how this LO turned out. The photo isnt the best, so I wanted to keep the focus on the photo as much as possible. So I didnt really layer too much paper, just did a bit of 3D work with some of the flowers i cut out of the pp. I cut the bling letter up and used it on my 3D flowers. I used liquid pearls on the leaves and the butterfly down the bottom is rubbed onto the acetate that the rubons are stuck to. I hope Im allowed to do that with the challenge.
