Southern Girls First Birthday blog hop

Can you believe we are a year old?, and what a fantastic year it has been with the support from all our wonderful sponsors, and to be on the best Design Team anyone could wish for. In celebration of this, we have an amazing bloghop with some of our fantastic regular sponsors giving away fabulous prizes. You should have arrived from Karen's blog http://www.vanillascraps.blogspot.com// , if not, head back to www.southerngirlschallenges.blogspot.com where a full blog hop list is.

I have used some gorgeous papers from Bearly Mine
http://bmd-creations.blogspot.com/
called Delicous Delights. The lovely Donna at Bearly Mine is giving away a £10 Gift Voucher to one lucky lady who: 1 - comments on my blog and 2 - enters the challenge at Southern Girls.

So, to recap.... the rules are simple, make sure you make a card, layout or OTP project and enter on Southern Girls Challenges, also leave me a comment, and on the 31st of September I will draw a random name, that will be a winner of the sponsor that I am showcasing. All prizes on the other design team's blogs will be drawn on the 20th, however I will be overseas til the 29th, so I will draw a winner when i return.

Here are my two layouts that i created using the Delicous Delights paper from Bearly Mine.
I printed out 3 different strawberry designed pieces of paper and have layered them onto white cardstock. I handstitched the border around the edge of the cardstock. Other materials used were Bella flower, prima flourish, card, kaiser die cut, a2Z Scraplet chipboard, kaiser rub ons and pearls. Im reasonably happy with how this layout came together

For this second layout I printed out some of the cherry designed papers, I thought they matched in nicely with the dessert in the photo. I tore these into strips and layered them on top of each other. I also used flourish with a bling pearls, Kaiser wood butterfly, leaves, Bella flower, Kaiser diecuts and arrow and American craft thickers. I thought this page might have looked a bit busy, but I reckon it turned out okay.

Now head on over to Sue's blog http://patriciasue.blogspot.com/ , have fun......

Scrapping Outback Cyber Crop - Rachelle's challenge

Yay I got all the challenges for the cyber crop at Scrapping Outback completed
Rachelle's challenge was to take a new chipboard title and make it look old. I didnt have any chippy title that I can use for this LO, so i decided to do a fence instead. I painted the fence, sanded it and then i inked it with black ink on a sponge.
Im really happy with how this layout came together, and so quick to put together too. I used My Minds Eye and Kaiser patterned papers, girls paperie embellishments, prima flourish, chipboard fence, kaiser wood, lace, button, kaiser die cut, page from a novel, american craft thickers and chatterbox alpha

Scrapping Outback cyber crop - Alicia's challenge

Alicia's challenge for the Scrapping Outback 'Scraptivators' cyber crop
Was to take an old layout and make it new. So here is my old layout, that i did years ago, probably about 4 years ago, of our engagement party.

I only had one of the photos still printed, and it was in colour which proved to be really difficult to get anything to match it.
Anyway here is the new LO

Im not entirely happy with how it turned out, i think its just the colours. i had so much trouble finding paper and embellishments to match. I used Pink Paislee and papermania patterned paper, little yellow bicycle stickers, mini roses, paint, prima flourish, kaiser alpha stickers, ribbon, bella journal block and american craft thickers. I also stuck our engagement notice from the newspaper onto the LO.

Scrapping Outback cyber crop - Joanne's challenge

Joanne’s challenge for the Scrapping Outback’s cyber crop

http://www.scrappingoutback.com.au/

was to create a layout using paint cards, and a black or white cardstock base. I ducked up to the hardware place and got a few nice pink, purple, green and blue paint cards, not knowing what colour I wanted to do the layout. When I picked the patterned paper, it just didn’t want to work with the paint cards, so I decided to just use all the paint cards on the layout. Im really happy with how it turned out. I also used Kaiser and prima flowers, ribbon, ric rac, jolees embellishments, buttons, chord, magnolia metal, charms, beads, paper clip, flourish with a bling leaves, American craft thickers, carolee creations alpha stickers, paint cards and my cancer foundation daffodil pin

And here is my layout for the challenge. I got inspiration from the colours of the plates, mainly white, black and pink. For this layout I didnt use any patterned paper, just a piece of white cardstock as the base and i matted the photo with black cardstock. I used american craft thickers, flourish with a bling flourish, kaiser and basic grey rubons, paint and ribbon for the ribbon flower which i made and there is 3 mini roses in the centre. Im really happy with this layout.
