Mad About Scrappin Cyber Crop challenges

Last weekend Leanne, Mad About Scrappin, held a cyber crop with the theme Recycle It . I only managed to get 2 of the 4 challenges completed. But I've been packing and cleaning most of the week. I've now packed my scrapbooking supplies, so there will be no more scrappin til after May 8, when we move. Anyway for the first challenge the requirements were:
"Recycle your scrapping"

My challenge for this month's CC is to recycle your scrapping!! You can do this one of two ways -
1) Recyle a photo - Sometimes when I look back at some of my older layouts I squirm a bit, our style often changes over time. I have more than a few layouts in my albums that just dont really do the photos justice and i'd love to redo. So go ahead, reprint the photo and give it another go!
2) Recycle a layout - On the flip side, sometimes when I look over my pages I just love the layout of some of them, and on occassion i'll use it as a starting point or inspiration for another page. So go on, scraplift yourself and see what you can come up with.

So I decided to scraplift a very recent LO that I did of my middle daughters 3rd birthday. The photo for this CC was taken in Fiji. We had a champagne breakfast each morning, I had a headache most mornings, but on the mornings that I felt good I had a glass of champagne. So this LO is a scraplift of the collage LO I did of Mia's bday.
I used some of my scraps for this LO. Kaiser PP and the new webster's range of paper, kaiser embellishments, making memories rub ons for the title, and carolee creations alpha stickers. Im pretty happy with how this LO turned out.

And  for Challenge 3 the requirements were:
When I think of Recycling I immediately think of trees and how we are saving our earth by recycling....so for my challenge tonight I would like for you to use earthy colours. Colours like brown, green, orange, cream etc are all earthy colours. I would also like you to include a tree embellishment on your layout and include something 'Recycled' as well. By 'recycled' I mean something non scrap related. So it could be anything that is around your house.

The photos that I chose for this LO were taken in Fiji, when my daughter and her holiday friend were chosen by the warrior to light the flames around the resort. it was so exciting and she had a ball. So I used very earthy colours, my trees are on the Kaiser pp and my non scrap item is a softdrink can ring pull.

Scrapbooking for Less cyber crop

I completed 2 out of 3 challenges for the cyber crop over at Scrapbooking for Less, http://scrapbooking4less.com.au/.

Challenge 1 requirements were
Create a LO with:

2 patterned papers
Scallops
a Tag

The LO that I did for this challenge started off as a just because LO. I have been feeling a bit drained of creativity over the past week, so I just wanted to do a pink, pretty LO. It ended up suiting the criteria. I really love this photo of DH and DD1. I think the PP is My Memories, i used a page out of a book, carolee creations alpha stickers, K & Company sticker, scalloped lace, prima pearl flourish, ribbon roses (made by Chris), american thickers, heidi swapp verse and i used an old anklet to frame under the photo.

Challenge 3 was to
Create a LO with:

Paper curling
Layered flowers
Fabric

I bought this Bo Bunny PP today, i just love it. The cream background card is not part of the LO. This definately looks so much better in real life. The LO is untitled at the moment. This photo is of DD3 from her daycare. The PP that i used was a freebie from the scrapbooking memories magazine. I also used kaiser rub ons, prima pearl bling, jolees bird cage, embelly, prima flowers, tilda & mushroom stamp, the big flower is made of a satiny material (it was a hair tie originally). I have layered prima flowers on top of the material flower and i curled some thin strips of paper, and placed them under the large flower.

Born 2 Create challenge sponsored by scrapncraftwitht

This is my take on the challenge at Born 2 Create that is sponsored by Scrap n Craft with T. The challenge was to create a collage LO with plenty to look at, and also include numbers, an arrow, stars and buttons.
I'm pretty happy with how this turned out, although I just feel that the photo gets a bit lost on the page. I used mainly scrap pieces of paper for this LO, which is always nice to get rid of small bits of paper. Products I used are kaiser paper, rice paper, bo bunny pp, sassafras lass pp, stampin up tab punch, making memories brad and metal charms, ric rac, buttons, stampin up and the horse in the top left corner is off the back off a chocolate.

Lisa's April challenge at Uproar 2 scrapmore

I havent had a chance to upload this to the uproar site yet, cause i cant get my password to work. For this challenge Lisa wanted to see a shaped base, striped paper and a 3 word title. Im really happy with how this LO turned out, cause I really struggle with vintage type LOs. I love this photo of Isla, she just loves being swung on the swings, hence the title "Swing Me Mum". I stitched ribbon over the chains of the swing. The base is one of the new Websters range of PPs, i just love em. I used stampin up striped paper, behind the photo, sheet music, paper, black mesh (which ripped off Mia's dress), lovely ribbon flowers made by Chris, and a few other little things that I couldnt be bothered listing.

For this one girls i'd like to see a clock on your layouts and not vintage,I want to see bright colours and also a flourish. You may add anything else you wish but must have these requirements.
I used Bo Bunny pp's, thickers, flowers, leaves, kaiser pearls, jolees embellishments.

Mad About Scrappin Friday Sketch Challenge

This is my take on the Friday sketch challenge over at Mad About Scrappin. Im quite happy with how this turned out. For the sketch we had to use something new and something old. The number 3 is a sticker that I have had for about 3 and half years and that heart lace doily stuff i have had for nearly 3 years, so thats my old stuff. And the new stuff is the lace, ric rac, flowers and feathers that a friend sent me before easter. I cant remember any of the brands of papers or embellies that I used.

Christmas layout

For the scrapbook apprentice round 1 we had to do a 12 x 12 layout. I decided to do 2 layouts. This is the one I chose not to send in for the competition. I have used Papermania patterned paper, and a range of embellishments that were sent to me from Printblocks. The holly leaves are just from a cheap shop.

Scrapbook Apprentice First Round projects finished

Woohoo Ive finished the first round projects for the scrapbook apprentice competition. Two people are eliminated this round, so thats a bit scary. For this round the tasks were a 12 x 12 layout, one card and a small miscellaneous project. It took me a couple of demos of the card before I was happy with it and I have done two layouts, so just gotta choose which one i like the best. I hope I make it throught this first round.

I'm a Scrapbook Apprentice Finalist

Im super super excited because I had a call from Print Blocks telling me I am one of the 12 finalists in their Scrapbook Apprentice Competition, Australia. I've never had a layout published so I'm looking forward to seeing my work in the Creativity Magazine. The latest edition of Creativity Magazine, number 20, has all the finalists listed. I received my Round 1 pack in the mail last week, and the theme is Christmas in July. For this round I have to make a 12 x 12 layout, a card and a small miscellaneous project. So after a few days of thinking and plenty of ideas running through my head, I have finished the card and am also nearly done with the layout. I am so happy with the card and the layout is turning out as I expected. So hopefully all my ideas for my small project will fall into place.
