Round 2 Scrapbook Apprentice

These were the goodies we were given for Round 2. We had to use one colour range for either the photo frame and the other colour range for a wall hanging.

The newsletter is out, and I think I made the top 3. So Im happy with that, cause its better than where i was placed in the first round. You can see all the entries in the August edition of Creativity. I added 2 more paper roses to the top left corner of the wall hanging, after i took this photo.

Scrapncraftwitht sponsored challenge at Born2create

The scrapncraftwitht sponsored challenge at http://born2create.ning.com/
The requirements were to make a LO based on a game. I chose monopoly, and drew the monopoly board around the outside of my LO. I used ribbon as the colours for each area in monopoly. And just used quotes and things my husband likes around the outside. Reasonably happy with how this one turned out. I used, kaiser scraps, kaiser droplets, thickers, carolee creations alpha stickers, whimsy stamp, stampin up stamps and making memories alpha stickers.

Embellish Comp Round 7 Alter It

Wow cant believe I am still in the Embellish competition at scrapncraftwitht.com.au

This week the requirements were

create your own patterned background

make and use at least 3 inchies on your project

use a quote as part of your title

not use alpha stickers on your project

create a handmade embellishment from fabric

I used glimmermist on white cardstock, and as a mask i used those long chipboard pieces that come with album refills. We had to use scraps, so I raided my kaiser scrap box and got a few pieces, that didnt even need cutting or altering. I just inked the edges and they were ready. I had never heard of inchies before, I have made 3 up the left hand side of the photo. The title is "Shoot for the moon and if you miss you are still among the stars", i stamped this title. My handmade embellishment is the circle flowers on the top left of the photo. I used green fabric and the blue mesh stuff is off a McDonalds happy meal toy. I also made the large blue ribbon flower (took a long time). I also used a prima pearl flourish, fancy pants die cut, ribbon, buttons, buzz and bloom fabric corners, papermania journal spot, dymo labeller, and scrappy matts chipboard fence.

Embellish Comp Round 6 - Store It

For round 6 of the Embellish comp at scrapncraftwitht.com.au we had to make something to hold some gift cards, that we had to make 3 of. These were the requirements
Alter an embellishment

Make a card compendium that is different from the example

Make at least 3 cards

I made this suitcase from a template that I got from Becky at http://inkingidaho.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2010-05-29T05%3A00%3A00-06%3A00&max-results=12
You can purchase this and many other templates from her. Check out her site. its amazing
Anyway the pp that i used has been sitting in my stash for nearly 3 years. I thought it was the ugliest paper ever. But when i placed it against the pink and green cardstock, it just seemed to come alive. Couldnt believe. Dont know the name of the pp. The suitcase surprisingly didnt take me too long. Putting it all together was probably the most fiddly and time consuming thing about it. I used 2 buckles from my LSS, which i think give it a real life effect. My handmade embelly is a large white bella flower that I cut off all the petals and with the remaining circle centre, i put the end of some pink ribbon through, bunched the white circle centre around the ribbon. And then i made 4 loops, with the ribbon, around the white centre as another row of colour. I then stuck most of the petals back around the edge. Very fiddly and Im not sure i will be able to get the glue off fingers ever. My 3 cards were just made with the scraps left over using some stamped images that Mel and Deb gave me. Very happy with how this turned out
This is the cut up bella flower

The altered bella flower with the pink ribbon. The other side of the pp can be seen behind the sentiment.

Round 5 Embellish competition - Roll It

I have made it through to round 5 of the Embellish competition at scrapncraftwitht.com.au. This is one round further than I got last year, so im happy about this. For this round the requirements were:

Layout to be any shape but square!

Monochromatic Colour Scheme (With a hint of one other colour only!)

Paper Rolling or Quilling must be used on your layout!

Stamping to be used on your layout and be a prominant feature (not just a little stamp in the corner).

An embellishment to be made using acetate/transparency (you can also include any of the above criteria on your embellishment).

Im quite happy with how this turned out.

So i have a shaped LO using purple and a hint of black. I have done some paper rolling at the bottom left of the photo, and have made a quillled butterfly near the flowers and quilled black flourishes. I used a Stampin Up background stamp in the bottom right corner, a stamped magnolia image (sitting on the music notes), stamped a Stampin Up butterfly on acetate and flowers on transparency. i have put some purple pearls on the transparency butterfly and used 3D tape on the transparency flowers. I mainly used scrap pieces of pp for this LO. It is titled How Old? As I am nearly 31, and am wondering where the time has gone. The black music notes is scrappymatts chippy. I love them they are so gorgeous.

Round 3 Queen of Cards Competition @ Debs Creations

The theme for round 3 of the Queen of Cards competition at debscreations.ning.com, is to create a card using a Kraftin Kimmies stamp and a summer theme. So I made this card using Giselle from the Kraftin Kimmies range that Deb sells and i used nice bright colours and plenty of flowers. The top part of the easel card is the packaging from some embellishments that i bought. The word sentiments is from stampin up

Amanda's July challenge @ Born2create

At Born2create.ning.com, Amanda's challenge for July is to do a LO with a picture of an animal on it, and the name of the animal in the title. So, I couldn't resist doing a LO of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. The moon and the wolf are clip art pics that I printed off the net. The picture of the 3 stars is off the popcorn box (crazy i know that i keep stuff like this). I also bought a Team Edward bag when I saw the movie, which is where the necklace and the cullen crest badge came from. I used the plain side of kaiser pp, La Chateau range. I used both sides of 2 scrapmatts chippy trees, red mesh ribbon, kaiser flowers, kaiser alpha stickers, carolee creation alpha sticker, and thickers. Im pretty happy with how this turned out.

Embellish Comp Round 4 Vintage It

This was once a coffee tin that i have had sitting at my desk for a while. So i decided to make it into a storage tin for some of my ribbons and bows. I have used ric rac and lace. I put the rub on, on some clear acetate, cut it out and made it 3D. I dabbed the paint on, to give it a bubbley effect. And have torn and inked some of the pp. I used the kaiser La chateau range
