Scrappin Outback MSR Pressure Test

The first of the pressure tests is on for My Scraproom Rules at http://www.scrappingoutback.com.au/messageboard/
We had to choose 2 numbers from 1-10 one is from list A of embellishments and other is from list B of techniques. I chose 1 and 4, which were flowers and 3 dimensional. For this LO I handcut a whole page of prima patterned paper, and 3 dimensionaled that around the photo. It didnt take me long at all. I also used papermania stickers, kaiser pearls, and diamantes, stampin up die cut, mini alpha stickers, K & Company rub on and kaiser fozz felt alphas. Very happy with this layout.

Tara's Masterclass at Scrappin Outback

As part of the My Scraproom Rules competition at Scrapping Outback, there are 3 masterclasses with special guests throughout the competition period. Last night's special guest was Tara Scobie. Who gave us instructions to make a beautiful LO. I didnt buy the kit for the class, so I just had to make do with what I had. And I am happy with how my LO turned out. The only thing I didnt like was that I didnt have any chipboard titles that related more closely to the photo. So i cut the family bit of a chipboard piece that said 'family and friends'. I used kaiser paper as the base, prima roses and flourish, A2Z Scraplet chipboard pieces, kaiser stamp, making memories brads, lace, twine, and two charms.

My scraproom rules challenge 1 - CHOP, CHOP & GARNISH

The time has finally come for the first challenge of the Scrapping Outback 'My Scraproom Rules' competition. Julie has set the first challenge, called chop, chop and garnish. And let me tell you, i did a lot of chopping.

The criteria for this round are:
1.Fussy cutting chop your paper
2.Chipboard Chopped
3.Garnish with Distressing
4.Minimum of 3 Noticeable Hand made Flowers
5.The use of Scrapping Outback Chipboard  (optional)

I didn't buy the kits provided, but I did use the same paper range that they have allocated for challenge 1. I used Graphic 45 Sprintime range patterned paper, that i had left over. I also used Elle's studio journal block, kaiser and K & Company rub ons, Carolee Creations alpha stickers, page from a novel, chipboard fence, american craft thickers, buttons and sewing pattern paper. Flourish with a Bling May colour challenge

These are the colours that Liz from Flourish with a Bling http://www.flourishwithabling.com.au/blog/ has chosen for the May challenge. Black, white and Teal
Im not happy with how my layout turned out, you know when you have the idea in your head and it just doesnt turn out how it was supposed to. I think its my flowers, they are too flat and plain. But anyway this is my layout. I used some paper that i have had in my stash for years. Come to think of it, i dont know any brands of stuff that i used on this layout.

Sam' sketch challenge on her blog

Here is the sketch for Sammy's sketch challenge, that she posted on her blog http://samiammylifeinnotes.blogspot.com/
And the layout I created with the sketch. I used only scraps from my scrap pile (which always feels good), kaiser die cut, dymo labeller, kaiser diamantes, chipboard flourish, papermania journal block and flowers - one of which is one of Sam's own creations from a flower swap. For the base I just stamped an ink pad around in pink and yellow. Reasonably happy with how this layout turned out.

Julie's quickfire challenge - Scrappin Outback

Before the major My Scraproom Rules competition starts at Scrappin Outback http://www.scrappingoutback.com.au/messageboard/index.php Julie has set up a warm up challenge to make an apron. So I have created a layout in the shape of an apron using Kaiser's range of cooking papers. I also used the matching kaiser die cuts, alpha stickers, A2Z scraplet stickers and chipboard title, Flourish with a bling pearls, buttons, ribbon and carolee creations alpha stickers.

Im a bit late in posting this up on my blog. The challenge is now closed. Amanda set a challenge at http://born2create.ning.com/ The criteria was to scrap a photo of a friend and include lace and flowers on the layout. I wasnt completely happy with this LO, it just didnt want to work how i imagine it. But anyway, I used websters patterned paper, girls paperie embellishments, page from a dictionary, prima packaging, kaiser rub ons, i handmade the flowers using ribbon and lace, buttons, prima flower, paper doily, diamante flourish and making memories brads.

Southern Girls challenge #18 "Lets hear it for the the girls"

Louise and Tracy asked me to join the Design team at http://southerngirlschallenge.blogspot.com/
Of course I said YES, and here is my first layout as part of the team. The theme is 'lets hear it for the girls' and I got to pick a digital image from Tiddly Inks http://tiddlyinks.com/ And I chose the very cute 'tree hugger' image. I thought it really suited these photos of Mia that I took next to a tree. For this layout I used ZVA flourish, heidi swapp chipboard, a paper doily, K & Company rub ons, A2Z scraplet chipboard title, kaiser chipboard, stampin up leaf stamp, ribbon and echo park stickers. I handmade teh ribbon rose in the top right corner and the bottom 3 roses were made by my friends Chris and Deb.

My Challenge at Debs Creations

It was my turn to create a challenge at http://debscreations.ning.com/ this month. So for this month the criteria is to make a layout, card or OTP and to include something that is handmade by YOU, on your project. Easy
Here is what I came up with. This LO started off being made for Trudi's easter challenge at Debs Creations, but i just didnt have enough room to put a heap of flowers on it. So it ended up being for my own challenge. I used Bo Bunny and stampin up paper, coredinations cardstock, ZVA diamante flourishes, Kaiser rub ons, K & Company sticker, prima packaging, Papermania stickers and journal block, A2Z Scraplets chipboard, magnolia doo hickey die cut fence, Magnolia tilda stamp and sign, vellum quote and a ceramic button and thread.

The Emerald Faeries are the creation of my friend Deb Mitchell, and are designed by Linda Catchlove. You can buy the Emerald Faerie images here http://www.debmitchellcreations.com/ They are available as a digital image or rubber stamp. They are just so darn cute and are great to colour in. Three of the last four Emerald Faeries to be released are extra special to me because they were named after my three daughters. How special is that? The very first challenge is open today and the theme is 'Anything Goes'. You have a month to complete the challenge and link to your blog.  Hoping to see you all in the Emerald Faerie Garden  :)
Here is my layout that i created for the challenge. I used a lot of my scraps and remaining stickers from the Echo Park Sweet Summertime range, that is also available at Deb's store. I also used K & Company rub ons and alpha stickers, carolee creations alpha stickers, american craft thickers, making memories rub ons and brads, Sandylion stickers, cloud button and i used the little push out bit at the top of the carolee creations alpha sheet of stickers which looks a little bit like a cloud. I used the very cute Isla faerie image.
